Tristan Wirfs

Sticking with the Buccaneer 2020 Draft class, Tristan Wirfs’ ceiling may be higher than that of Winfield based on his position.

A franchise tackle is, by most metrics, more important than any offensive position on the football field except for quarterback. Dominant offensive linemen across the NFL like David Bakhtiari and Trent Williams play a significant role in their respective offenses. Wirfs could become a player with talent comparable to these two.

Given the importance of the position, Wirfs could become the most critical draft pick by the Buccaneers of the past decade. Tampa Bay 100% made the correct decision when they traded up to secure Wirfs, and the decision has paid off from the first week.

Wirfs has been one of the highest-rated offensive rookies in the league, according to PFF.com, and maintaining this pace could make Wirfs a common name in every household.

The young tackle will live under the microscope for the next two years, at least with Tom Brady on the roster, but Wirfs has the opportunity to cement himself as a star in the NFL during this time in the limelight.
