Tom Brady makes a compelling case for MVP

If all projections are held equal, at this rate, Tom Brady will not win MVP of the NFL with Russell Wilson playing at his current pace, but Brady will be very close.

So far on the season, Brady has 1,122 passing yards, 12 total touchdowns, and four interceptions. Multiplied out by the rest of the season, Brady could easily finish the season with 4,488 passing yards, 48 total touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. The interceptions here are very high, but the offensive success outweighs the turnovers.

With stats like this, Brady would be one of the premier offensive weapons in the league during his 21st season playing, and the name alone could turn some heads in the race. Brady probably wouldn’t finish first, but his name could cause some buzz down the stretch.

In all likelihood, Brady would probably calm down some with his turnovers and his touchdowns. 48 is very high, especially if four come as rushing touchdowns, and a round 40 seems much closer to reality.

On the interception side, Brady probably slows down and finishes with 12 or so after he becomes more acclimated to Bruce Arians’ system as the season progresses. Regardless of the road bumps, everyone can see that Tom Brady has some gas left in the tank.
