The long week came at a perfect time for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a gut-wrenching loss to the Chicago Bears Thursday evening at Soldier Field and now Bucs fans will have to deal with the bad taste in their mouths for an extended period of time.

While it definitely isn’t most ideal situation for Buccaneers fans, there’s no doubt that this team needs a long week for recovery and a chance to reset things after an ugly outing up in Chicago.

As a matter of fact, just about everything about having a long week to prepare and recover has lined up perfectly for Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers have a chance to get healthy again, even without a bye week

Playing a game on a Thursday night on a short week is not an ideal situation, but now the Bucs have had some extra days to potentially recover and certainly reset after that ugly outing.

The Packers are coming to town this coming weekend and the Buccaneers know they have a tall task ahead of them, but having the long week- which doesn’t even count as a bye week, by the week- allows them a chance to get some of those banged up players back on the field like Leonard Fournette and Chris Godwin, for example.

It also gives them a chance to prepare and learn new roles with both TE O.J. Howard and NT Vita Vea out for the season.

It’s not going to be a fun week and a half for Bucs who are ready to get the taste of defeat out of their mouths, but it sits perfectly for this team and another aspect is the fact that the entire team is going to have to sit their with the taste of defeat in their mouths, as well.

dark. Next. 3 penalties that shaped the loss vs. Bears

The result? We’ll hopefully see a much more refreshed and focused Buccaneers team the next time they take the field.
