The Buccaneers need to get Godwin back as soon as possible

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are missing one of their best wide receivers and they have to get him back to have a chance at becoming legitimate competitors.

The Buccaneers, who fell to 3-2 on the season with a loss to the Chicago Bears this past Thursday night, have been without one of their top wide receivers in Chris Godwin for the past couple of weeks and they finally have a long week in which he could potentially get back into the rotation.

There’s no doubt they need him.

Godwin suffered a hamstring injury a few weeks back in the Buccaneers’ win over the Denver Broncos and has been out of action since that time.

Godwin may be the key to the Buccaneers making the playoffs

Tom Brady was just starting to come around and play at a higher level with more trust for his wide receivers when Godwin went out with his injury and it has been the Mike Evans show- mixed with a little Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson and Rob Gronkowski– since that point.

The truth of the matter is this: The Buccaneers aren’t going to the playoffs without Chris Godwin.

When you have both Evans and Godwin on the field at the same time, the Bucs could potentially become unstoppable offensively. You’re talking about two wide receivers who can beat their men with relative ease. They’re both Pro-Bowl level wide receivers.

However, when you take one or the other out of the lineup, you’re talking about a much less threatening wide receiver corps.

That’s why it’s imperative that the Bucs get Godwin back at full-strength and because he very well may be the key for Tampa Bay between making the playoffs or missing badly. He means that much to this offense.
