The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are building some special right now, but the salary cap does not go on forever. They could lose these players to a shrinking cap.
As it stands, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set for the next two seasons. Their depth on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball is stout, and keeping this group together for the next season is critical for the perceived playoff run that he has been prematurely attributed to this team.
Tampa Bay is great when healthy, but this season has shown some scary holes on the injury front for a team that can’t deal with losses at crucial times as they have so far.
Another frightening issue for the Bucs in keeping the roster together is the shrinking cap space that is supposed to hit like a truck next season. Due to the loss of revenue from COVID-19, the NFL may have to cut back the salary cap for many teams, and the Buccaneers barely have any available as it is.
If players aren’t willing to take pay cuts, the Buccaneers could have to move on from several players if they want to make ends meet. These Bucs may not return next year based on their price tags.
