While the points and the records are one thing, the Buccaneers could have achieved one of the most impressive stats of the year last night, and the coaches do deserve some credit for it. Here is the tweet from Greg Auman showing the significance:

Zero sacks and zero turnovers the Buccaneers have been able to do. The offensive line is playing like one of the best in football right now, and Tom Brady is matching career highs on the accuracy front, but zero penalty yards is shocking.

False starts, holding, and pass interferences have marred the Buccaneers all season, and for these to not occur all on the same night is one of the most impressive feats by the team in a decade. If Tampa Bay can continue to minimize the above errors, they will remain one of the best teams in the NFL.

Bruce Arians has received a lot of flak this year for some of his decisions, but this is a testament to his ability as a head coach. These stats also don’t show that Arians also won a coaches challenge, which has ended a poor string of questionable decisions that have been made with the red flag.

Expecting for the Buccaneers to recreate this stat line again this year would be a massive stretch, but the Bucs do need to keep this up if they want to make a run deeper into the playoffs. If Tampa Bay can play disciplined football with the absence of mental mistakes, they have proven that no team in the NFL can stop them.
