With Chris Godwin returning from injury, the Buccaneers need to find a way to continue getting the ball to Scotty Miller when the reps become limited. Obviously, Godwin deserves a greater share, but Miller has proven himself as well.

If Godwin stays healthy, Miller could see his reps quickly diminish based on the current Buccaneer offensive game plan. With two tight ends and a running back also on the field, Miller could become the odd man out if the Buccaneers don’t address the problem.

Tampa Bay has to make sure that Miller still gets the ball; otherwise, Tom Brady could lose one of his favorite targets.

Brady and Miller established an immediate connection during training camp that became very evident during the regular season. Miller is still the #2 receiver on the stat sheet behind Mike Evans in receiving yards, and his production has been the best on the team.

Averaging 16 yards per reception shows Miller’s big-play potential and also his opportunity to give Brady as many compatible options as possible. Taking Miller out of the equation because of Godwin makes sense on paper, but Brady spreads the ball out enough to warrant keeping Miller on the field as an explosive option that has been a penalty-drawing machine this year.
