Three Tampa Bay Buccaneers who might be gone after 2020 season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently sitting atop the NFC South Divisional standings following Week 6 of the 2020 season, but there is still a long way to go.

As we approach the midpoint of the season, it’s time to begin looking at the active roster and thinking about what we could see next year and what upcoming free-agents may need to do to secure a spot at the negotiation table.

Here’s a look at three Tampa Bay Buccaneers who might be gone after this season.

3. Leonard Fournette

The truth of the matter is that Leonard Fournette was likely going to be a one-year rental no matter what, but an injury that has held him out for several weeks and a less-than-stellar stat sheet will only add to the likelihood that Fournette isn’t in Tampa Bay next season.

The Bucs still have Ronald Jones II for another season and they’ve begun to rely more heavily on rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn in the past couple of weeks.

If that trend continues, the Bucs might very well be willing to look the other way when Fournette’s contract negotiations come around, especially since Fournette will likely still be asking a pretty penny during what may be his final big-time free agency period.
