3 Buccaneers who might not be in Tampa Bay following this season
2. Shaquil Barrett
Shaq Barrett was the NFL’s sack leader a year ago, but this season he only has one sack and four total QB hits.
Barrett is playing on the franchise tag right now and wants to stay in Tampa, but his asking price may be more than what the Buccaneers are willing to pay if his production doesn’t increase over the course of this season.
There’s no doubt that Barrett is a talented edge-rusher, but is he the league’s best? If he’s not, there’s a chance the Bucs pass and look for cheaper options while Barrett moves on to earn a big-time contract elsewhere.
