The Tampa Bay Buccaneers absolutely embarrassed the Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders need to send a big thank-you card to the NFL for saving them from national humiliation at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers and Raiders were originally supposed to kickoff at primetime in front of a nationally-televised audience, but the game was moved up to the afternoon and placed on regional television following a positive COVID-19 test from Las Vegas. Little did the Raiders know the movement of the game would at least save them some embarrassment.
Though Tampa Bay was just a 2.5-point favorite coming into the matchup, the Buccaneers took absolute control of the game in the second half and came away with an emphatic 45-20 victory in which it could’ve been worse.
The Buccaneers are a legitimate threat for the Super Bowl, and that can’t be denied
We shouldn’t forget that this is the same Raiders team that beat the Kansas City Chiefs- the reigning Super Bowl champions- just two weeks ago.
This team had two weeks to prepare for the Buccaneers and the game plan showed, but in the end, Tampa Bay was just better in every facet.
Tom Brady finished the night throwing for 369 yards and four touchdowns to no interceptions. Devin White had three sacks, including the exclamation point on the Raiders’ final drive of the game. Rookie Antoine Winfield Jr. had his first career interception when the Bucs needed it most.
Overall, you couldn’t have asked for much more of a better performance from the Bucs. The defense had a couple of breakdowns, but still held when it needed to against a pretty good offensive attack and the offense had its best game of the season.
The result was an embarrassing loss for the Raiders at home and another step closer to the postseason for the Buccaneers.
