MVP voting can sometimes be a fickle process. The fact that Russell Wilson has never received an MVP vote shows that this isn’t a perfect science, but the definition of value should be evaluated before votes are cast.

Wilson and the Seahawks have been one of the best teams in the NFL recently, and they made the playoffs eight times in the last decade, with one of those seasons ending in a Super Bowl win. Wilson is clearly the most valuable player for the Seahawks, but is he more valuable than Brady is to the Buccaneers?

The Buccaneers experienced a far different decade than Seattle. They never made the playoffs, and they were consistently one of the worst teams in the league. Tom Brady has changed everything.

While the Bucs have made several free agents moves this past offseason, the roster is mostly the same as last season, where the Buccaneers failed to impress. Tampa Bay has added one offensive starter; otherwise, this is the same offense as last season outside of Brady.

If value is wins and not just stats, then Brady has made a more significant impact for the Buccaneers than Wilson has for the Seahawks. Brady has morphed a team that was one of the worst in the league into a playoff favorite, which is more valuable than anything else.

If the MVP award goes to the best player rather than the most valuable, Wilson still has an advantage, but Brady has been on a tear as of recent, and that could change very soon.
