Tampa Bay Buccaneers now atop the NFC in latest Week 8 Power Rankings
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have proven themselves to be one of the league’s top teams through the first eight weeks of the 2020 season.

- Green Bay Packers (5-1)
- Seattle Seahawks (5-1)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ascended as legitimate competitors
Should the Bucs be ranked No. 3 in the league at this point? Maybe not. There are several one-loss teams like the Seahawks, Ravens and Titans that still could potentially be considered over Tampa Bay, but you’ve got to respect what Tom Brady and Co. have been able to do, especially the last two weeks.
Against two teams that have legitimate playoff chances in the Packers and Raiders, the Bucs outscored them by a combined total of 83-30.
That’s not just impressive, that’s domination.
There’s no doubt that this Bucs team has a chance to be special. There are tons of playmakers and legitimate weapons on the offensive side of the ball and the defense has been one of the league’s best to this point in the season. When those two units are both playing at high levels, this team will be tough to beat, no question about it.
No matter what you think about Power Rankings here in Week 8, the one thing that can’t be argued is that the Buccaneers have solidified themselves as legitimate contenders.
