First Take’s Stephen A. Smith has been known for some outlandish takes on his show, but Smith was spot on with his assessment of Tom Brady.

Stephen A. Smith and other sports personalities have one job above all others: to entertain. The main goal of these shows is to put an interesting spin on a topic related to sports to keep people coming back. Stephen A. may be more of a basketball guy, but he is one of the few personalities that has Tom Brady figured out.

Brady has been a controversial figure so far this season. Fans and analysts alike weren’t sure about him to start the season, and takes have ranged from Brady maintaining his GOAT status to completely falling off the cliff as a player.

As the Buccaneers are nearing the midway point of the season, one side has an obvious advantage in this argument.

Brady has 1,910 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and four interceptions so far this season. These stats indicate that Brady is on pace for 4,366 passing yards, 41 passing touchdowns, four rushing touchdowns (five if you round up, but this is more conservative), against only nine interceptions.

When Smith’s co-host, Max Kellerman, tried to explain these stats away, Stephen A. wasn’t able to control his response.

For those that are new to Stephen A., this response is not out of the ordinary. His animated responses make him one of the most entertaining personalities to watch on T.V., but Bucs fans probably relate to this well.
