The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are nearing the midway point of the 2020 NFL season, and these upcoming free agents have already earned an extension into 2021.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have played seven games and are currently one of the top teams in the NFL with a five and two record. The Bucs dropped an easy game versus the Bears that could have made them a league favorite, but Tampa Bay has clearly shown a departure from the years of mediocre performances that plagued the 2010s.

A large part of this shift has come from the decisions made by the front office. Bruce Arians and Jason Licht have been phenomenal over the past few seasons in the draft and with the free-agent decisions that were made. Tampa Bay put together two of the best draft classes ever and signed the greatest quarterback of all time during the first two years of this partnership. Imagine what else could come with a bit more time.

Free agency is the best way for the Bucs to maintain their current dominance. Veteran players on cheaper contracts that want to play for a team are the best way to find guaranteed depth for a Super Bowl win.

Fortunately for the Buccaneers, they won’t need to look far in free agency, as keeping this unit together is the perfect decision for the time being. These three players likely won’t have to wait long for their extensions, as they have already played at extremely high levels.
