The Tampa Bay Buccaneers squeaked out a win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the trip up the east coast to face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The Giants had always been a thorn in Tom Brady‘s side beating him twice to win two Super Bowls so revenge is always on the table when Brady faces the Giants.

The Bucs started the half with the football and the offense looked in good working order with Brady spreading the offense among his weapons. Ronald Jones, Cameron Brate, Scotty Miller, and Jaydon Mickens were all being used on the first drive.

Unfortunately not everything was perfect and a couple of bad snaps caused Brady to miss a couple of throws and the Bucs only managed a 37-yard field goal by Ryan Succop. The defense was also in order forcing Daniel Jones and the New York Giants to punt on their first offensive possession of the game.

The next Brady possession everything was running smoothly until Ronald Jones would fumble a tipped ball that was recovered by the Giants defense and Daniel Jones would respond by coming onto the field and driving the ball down the field to score the game first touchdown.

A seven-yard touchdown reception by Dion Lewis made it 7-3 and the Bucs were trailing once again. The second quarter didn’t fare any better for Tampa Bay even if they were able to sack Daniel Jones on the next offensive possession the Giants would respond by sacking Brady and regaining the football.

The Giants would once again drive down the field and with 1:46 left in the first half Wayne Gallman would run in a two-yard touchdown to increase their lead to 14-3. Brady had about 90 seconds left in the half to try and score a touchdown.

The offense would settle for a field goal and Ryan Succop kicked one from 40 yards to make it 14-6 and that was the first half.

It got better for the Bucs in the second half as on the first possession of the half for the Giants Carlton Davis would pick off Daniel Jones to regain possession. Brady wasn’t able to convert on offense as the Giants defense was once again causing problems and forced them to punt.

The next time Brady and the Bucs got the football they would once again only manage a field goal to make it 14-9. The defense, in turn, did a good job on the Giants next offensive possession forcing them to punt the ball for the first time in the game.

The offense finally got going after that and Brady would drive the offense down the field and Rob Gronkowski would finish the drive with a three-yard touchdown reception to make it 15-14 for the Buccaneers.

Brady decided to go for the two-point conversion but unfortunately missed on it leaving the Giants deficit to just one point. The Giants would kick a field goal the next time they got the football to regain the lead and make it 17-15 for New York.

The Bucs answered with a couple of big fourth quarter stops, including an interception that would set up a Brady touchdown pass to Mike Evans to make the score 22-17. Tampa Bay then added a field goal to take an eight point lead with just a little over three minutes remaining.

The Giants answered with a late drive that saw Jones find Golden Tate in the back of the end zone, but they were unable to convert on the two-point conversion try and the Bucs held on for the win.
