Before Tom Brady signed with the Buccaneers, the rumors swirled that Brady wanted Brown to follow him wherever he went. While these were mostly unconfirmed and the points of conjecture, the limited sample in New England showed there was some basis for this.

When Brady did eventually sign with the Buccaneers, many believed that Brown was soon to follow. Even with the talented receivers already on the roster, who can say no to Tom Brady?

That person unsurprisingly ended up being Bruce Arians. BA made it clear that the Buccaneers did not need Brown due to several reasons that boil down to the character issues don’t outweigh the production. The matter seemed open and shut until a few weeks ago.

When Brown’s suspension from the league was nearing its conclusion, many analysts believed Brown would sign with the Seahawks or the Ravens. These dominant teams looked like they would get better, but a believed push from Brady kept the Buccaneers in the running.

Brown apparently shared the same desire as Brady to reunite, and Bruce Arians’ objections were not able to drown out the Buccaneers’ need at the position and Brady’s desire to have one of his favorite targets at his side for a playoff push later in the season.
