Wide receiver Mike Evans and quarterback Tom Brady have experienced a rocky start to their new relationship on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tom Brady and Mike Evans were supposed to light the NFL on fire in Tampa Bay. This duo should have been one of the best in the Buccaneers’ history, yet Evans is off to the slowest start of his career.

While everyone, including Evans, would say that it’s all about the team’s success, everyone involved with the organization has to wonder why this pair can’t get the ball rolling.

When they’re playing at their best, both of these players are top-five at their position in the NFL. Evans has consistently fallen in at fifth or sixth most of his time in the league, and everyone knows the legend of Tom Brady. Together, they should’ve been like chocolate and peanut butter, but unfortunately, the pairing is far more pedestrian.

Mike Evans only has 437 receiving yards so far on the season, which leaves him on pace to finish the year with a mere 776, by far the lowest of his career.

Brady is actually seeing an uptick in his production due to the vast array of new targets in Tampa Bay, but his success is hindered with Mike Evans as an afterthought. The Bucs are winning games, but the offense will never reach its stride without Evans in a featured role.
