Tampa Bay Buccaneers looking to avenge embarrassing loss from a week before

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to take on their NFC South Division rival Carolina Panthers this Sunday afternoon in Charlotte.

The Buccaneers are coming off an extremely embarrassing 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints, which honestly could’ve been much worse.

Tampa Bay is now looking to avenge that loss and get back into the win column against a Panthers team that has been less-than-stellar for much of the season, though it should be noted that Carolina just played the Chiefs into a tight fourth quarter game that resulted in a 33-31 loss for them.

While the Panthers did just play the Chiefs tight, let’s not forget that Carolina is expected to be without their top playmaker this weekend in Christian McCaffrey.

McCaffrey scored two touchdowns against the Chiefs in his return to the field- he was injured in  Week 2 against the Buccaneers with a high ankle sprain- but he suffered a shoulder injury and is expected to be held out of this one.

With McCaffrey out, we should expect the Buccaneers defense to come after Teddy Bridgewater and force him to beat them. We haven’t seen a big day from Shaquil Barrett yet, but something tells me he might create some havoc in the backfield this weekend.

On the offensive side of the ball, look for Tom Brady to play a much crisper game after throwing three interceptions last week and for the wide receivers to look more in sync with another week of experience under their belt.

Overall, the Bucs know that this is a must-win game for them if they want to remain in the division race and my belief is that we’ll see a much more focused effort from them this time around.
