After one of the worst rushing performances in NFL history, the Buccaneers bounced back in a major way with Ronald Jones as the standout.

Five rushing attempts in a single game is hard for any team to recover from. The Buccaneers looked lost in their week nine disaster against the New Orleans Saints, and Ronald Jones lost some of the traction that he had built during the previous weeks.

The Buccaneers struggled in almost every aspect of that game, but the rushing was singled out significantly. With more questions than ever surrounding the Buccaneer offense, the game against the Panthers was critical for Tampa Bay.

The game started flat for the Bucs, but what else is new? Tampa Bay’s play-calling and schemes are lackluster to start most matchups, and this game was no different.

Ronald Jones’ name was called early and often to mixed success. It is hard for any back to generate success when it is so painfully apparent that they are getting the ball on most first downs, but Jones could still find space at times.

As the game progressed, Jones overcame an early fumble off a pass to break off the longest run in Buccaneers’ history for a 98-yard rushing touchdown, and now all is forgiven.

After the best game of Jones’ young career, the Buccaneers are starting to finally figure out what they have in their starting running back.
