2. A defense that can create turnovers

If you want to win games in today’s NFL, then you have to do two things:

  1. Be able to score and move the ball.
  2. Create turnovers.

We’re seeing less and less of those 10-7 defensive battles that we used to see a couple of decades ago. It’s all about scoring now. It’s all about explosive offenses, but the defense still plays an important role.

You have to find a way to get off the field when needed,  but more important than anything, you’ve got to be able to force timely turnovers. There aren’t many defenses in the league that have done a better job of creating turnovers than the Buccaneers this season.
