Carlton Davis

It is only fitting that one of the best corners in the league should get the recognition of making a Pro Bowl. Carlton Davis has been one of the most productive corners in the NFL through the first ten weeks, and there is a chance that his honors could go beyond the Pro Bowl this year.

The Bucs took a chance on Davis during the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft and were rewarded in a substantial way. Davis has been a consistent contributor over the past two seasons, and there is likely a massive contract coming his way very soon.

A big way that players earn these larger contracts is through recognition like the Pro Bowl. While the system is flawed at times, Pro Bowl selections lead to bargaining power for the players, and Davis deserves all of the support that he can receive.

While there may be a few corners that garner a bit more attention, such as the likes of Stephon Gilmore and Jalen Ramsey, Davis has been performing at a level that goes beyond either of these powerhouses so far this season.

Davis has clearly proven that he is a franchise corner, and his first selection to the Pro Bowl this season would go a long way in solidifying Davis’ status as one of the top defensive players in the league.
