Todd Bowles

As previously mentioned, it’s the leaders on this team that will make the most significant difference. That leaves Brady and the coaching staff in the greatest position to make an impact. Todd Bowles started the season out hot, but the defense has struggled in recent weeks.

The defensive struggles have stemmed from various reasons, from injuries to mental mistakes, but the coaching decisions from Bowles have done few favors.

Instead of sticking with press man coverage, the Bucs have questionably switched to zone defense in the worst possible moments. Mediocre quarterbacks have carved up the Buccaneer secondary, and Bowles is the chief person to blame.

The defense needs to get back to its roots and give Kirk Cousins no openings this weekend. If Bowles can get back to the way the defense started this season, the inconsistent Viking offense should struggle significantly in this matchup.

Todd Bowles has definitely been the best coach for the Buccaneers this season, but he is also not above criticism. The Buccaneers defense has to be better, and that will start from the top.
