The Buccaneers are on the verge of making the playoffs for the first time in over a decade, and these free agents could help out a lot.

The Buccaneers don’t have many needs at this point of the season. The entirety of the roster has shown up when called upon at various points in the season, but consistency has still been a struggle at times.

With the playoffs so close, Tampa Bay needs to address more than needs. The Buccaneers have to construct the perfect roster if they hope to make the most out of the next month, and the free agency pool has several players that are still available in a pinch.

The Bucs have been blessed with injury luck so far this season, but they may want to address certain positions if an accident occurs down the stretch.

Player #1

Clay Matthews

See this one before? That’s because we have been preaching it for almost an entire year. Every week that Clay Matthews remains out of the NFL is more puzzling than the last. Perhaps if we write his name here enough, the Bucs will eventually catch the hint.

Matthews is one of the best pass-rushers of the past decade, and his talents would immediately help with a Buccaneer defense that could use a bit more depth. Matthews could step in alongside Anthony Nelson as a backup to Shaquil Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul as a high-ceiling, cheap option to earn minutes when it matters most.
