Considering most of us were in very different stages of life the last time one of these was written, this playoff preview for the Buccaneers is special.

2007 was the last time the Buccaneers played in the NFL Playoffs. Tampa Bay also faced off with an NFC East opponent that year, a New York Giants team that went on to win a Super Bowl. Let’s hope this game goes differently for the Bucs.

Over a decade has passed since the Buccaneers were in this similar spot of relevance. Children in Tampa have grown up without ever getting a whiff of the playoffs, but that drought is now over.

While making it to this point is a monumental occurrence, this is not the finish line. The Buccaneers still have to win this game to reach the bare minimum for the season’s expectations, and that win will not come easy.

While the Washington Football Team limped into the playoffs by default out of one of the worst divisions in the history of the NFL, this will not be a walk in the park. Washington’s defense has received a lot of love in recent weeks, and while the odds may favor Tampa Bay, the WFT is starting to garner some support as a dangerous underdog in their first playoff game since 2015.

Here is a look at the matchup.
