A “tear” doesn’t do it justice

In his last five games, Brady has clearly been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Nearly unstoppable in the passing game, Brady has thrown for 1,518 yards, 12 touchdowns, and only one pick in the past four games.

Even with the great Saints defense in opposition, there is very little that will slow Brady down at this rate. Professional sports are all about getting hot at the right time, and Brady is scorching hot going into the playoffs.

If Brady can keep his average of at least 300 passing yards, three touchdowns, and minimize the interceptions, there is very little the Saints can do to stop the Buccaneer offense.

When compared to his opponent for the upcoming matchup, Brady has been a far better quarterback than Drew Brees. Brees’ claim to fame has been his stellar completion percentage during his time in the NFL, but that stat means very little when it doesn’t have passing yards and touchdowns to back it up.

In the last four games, Brady has a higher completion percentage than Brees, more passing yards, more touchdowns, and two fewer interceptions. Brady was also the much better quarterback in the playoffs against a better defense than Brees, although Chicago’s defense is also very good.

While the two earlier games may look like the best way to evaluate Brady’s potential against New Orleans, the Saints haven’t seen this version of Brady yet.
