Jamie Newman and the Buccaneers: a match made in Heaven

We know it’s a little early to start looking towards the draft when the Buccaneers are playing in the Super Bowl in a week and a half, but it’s difficult to overlook the hype surrounding the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

With the best players coming together to compete for a week to showcase their skills and the absence of a traditional NFL Combine, the Senior Bowl will be some of the best and most readily accessible draft content for the masses.

Numerous players are trying to make a name for themselves when it matters most, and the Bucs need to keep an eye on several player performances while also getting their team ready to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

The one name that seemed to garner the most attention yesterday was Jamie Newman. Newman was considered a Heisman contender at the start of the season after transferring from Wake Forest to Georgia, but he decided to sit out the season to focus on preparing for the NFL.

Newman’s stock dropped quickly as players like Mack Jones, Zach Wilson, and Kyle Trask shot up draft boards due to their performances during the season, but don’t count Newman out yet. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers desperately need to find a successor for Tom Brady sooner than later, and Newman looks like the perfect candidate.
