Few have made the game of football as enjoyable as Rob Gronkowski has been able to during his time in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gronkowski is someone who is very aware that he gets to play a game for a living, and he has enjoyed just about every minute of it. The veteran tight end still takes his job seriously, but he also knows that it’s okay to have fun while doing it.

Gronkowski’s easygoing attitude and leadership in the locker room have played a tremendous part in the Bucs making it to this season’s Super Bowl. On Sunday, Tampa will be hoping his experience in the big game can lead the franchise to an upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Rob Gronkowski fooled the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during offseason workouts

On Monday, Gronkowski took part in the Super Bowl’s virtual opening night, and he answered a variety of different questions. Someone asked him what he remembered about the virtual workouts he had to take part in during the offseason, and the tight end gave an amazing answer.

There are probably very few people in the NFL today that could get away with saying and doing something like this, but Gronkowski is definitely one of them.

Imagine someone like Baker Mayfield saying he tricked his team by wearing different shirts during his workout to make it look like he was working out for more than a day. The media would be all over Mayfield and continue to bring this up whenever the quarterback would make a mistake.

But with Gronkowski, this type of mischief is accepted and tolerated because of the immense amount of success he has experienced during his time in the league. Is it fair? Probably not, but life isn’t fair.

On Sunday, Gronkowski will be looking to make a bigger impact than he did during Tampa’s other three playoff games this season. In these three matchups, the Bucs tight end has only caught a total of two passes for 43 yards.

Could this weekend be when we see the Gronkowski of old make an appearance and play a major part in the result? If the tight end can put up some impressive numbers, it certainly won’t hurt Tampa’s chances.
