In speaking to the media ahead of Super Bowl 55, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady had a subtle reminder why he’s the greatest of all time.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. You know it, I know it, the rest of the NFL world knows it.

And now, he’s on the cusp of breaking his own record for most Super Bowl rings in a player’s career. He already has six to his credit, all with the New England Patriots, and now he’s poised to earn a seventh amid an unprecedented 10th Super Bowl appearance when the Bucs square off against quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55 on Feb. 7.

Brady met with the media on Monday, and he admitted things were a little different in the lead-up to the Super Bowl than what he might have experienced in other years.

“This is a crazy media day,” Brady said. “I’m sitting here in an empty room. This is very different than the other nine experiences.”

A not-so-subtle reminder of why he’s the GOAT, right?

“The other nine experiences” might just be the greatest flex of all time if it weren’t for his former head coach with the Patriots, Bill Belichick, flashing all his Super Bowl rings during legends introductions just before Super Bowl 54 a year ago between the Chiefs and SF 49ers.

But that move by Belichick wasn’t quite as smoothly delivered at the moment as what Brady just said.

Tom Brady legacy won’t stop regardless of Super Bowl 55’s outcome

Mahomes will be looking to cement his own legendary legacy, too, and some could argue he’s the closest thing to a GOAT contender in the league. Already crowned a Super Bowl champion and MVP, Mahomes potentially earning back-to-back Lombardi Trophies will be very Brady-esque.

Even then, Mahomes will have a long, long way to go before he could even potentially endanger Brady’s hold on six, potentially seven Super Bowl rings.

Even with what could be Brady’s fourth Super Bowl loss, few players in the league’s history come close to having the honor of appearing in mere multiple Super Bowl games, let alone playing in 10 of them throughout a storied career.

So, at least in that sense, Brady is continuing to write his legacy even though he long since achieved GOAT-like status well before taking the Buccaneers to the NFL’s season finale.
