The greatest linebacker for the Buccaneers ever?

Lavonte David

Lavonte David may not earn the GOAT title for the Buccaneer linebackers yet, but he is certainly on track. While he has never received the same individual recognition that Derrick Brooks had throughout his career, David could set himself apart with a second Super Bowl ring.

No other Buccaneer ever has two rings, and Lavonte David is as deserving as anyone to be the first defensive captain alongside Devin White to have two to his name.

The offseason reports have started to indicate that David has an extensive market throughout the NFL. The Buccaneers may have to shell out some of their all-important cap space to keep their captain in pewter and red, but this is a part of the business.

The Buccaneer organization has ranted and raved about David throughout his time with the team and commended his loyalty, so it’s time for the team to repay the favor. David has never jumped ship, even when it was in his best interest, and the Buccaneers need him to return if they want to keep their Super Bowl hopes alive.

Lavonte David won’t be cheap, but a potential Hall of Fame linebacker like him is impossible to pass on when he means so much to the team.
