10 former Bucs players that never played in a Super Bowl
By Adam Patrick
Hardy Nickerson – LB
- Playoff Games: 8
- Conference Championship Appearances: 1
The Bucs have had several great defensive players suit up for them over the years and Hardy Nickerson was definitely one of them. During his seven seasons with Tampa, Nickerson was voted to five Pro Bowls, and he earned two First-Team All-Pro selections.
Despite his impressive performances on the field, it still wasn’t enough to help propel the Bucs to a Super Bowl appearance. Nickerson was a part of the 1999 Tampa team that made it to the NFC Championship, but that was as close as he came to participating in the big game.
Gerald McCoy – DT
- Playoff Games: 0
For those who aren’t as familiar with Gerald McCoy’s career, it might come as a shock that he has never even appeared in a single playoff game, let alone a Super Bowl.
McCoy was one of the few bright spots for the Bucs during some tough years in the early 2010s. He was able to earn six trips to the Pro Bowl and one First-Team All-Pro selection during his time with Tampa, but it never translated into him participating in any postseason matchups.
