Vinny Testaverde – QB

  • Playoff Games: 7
  • Conference Championship Appearances: 1

For someone who lasted in the NFL for 21 seasons, it’s pretty surprising that Vinny Testaverde was never able to be a part of a team that made it to the Super Bowl. The closest Testaverde came was in 1998 when he helped the Jets reach the AFC Championship.

He was a member of the 2004 New England Patriots team that earned a spot in that season’s AFC Championship, but he was not active for that contest.

After the Bucs selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 1987 NFL Draft, Testaverde probably didn’t think he would never appear in a Super Bowl during his time in the league.

Cedric Brown – S

  • Playoff Games: 3
  • Conference Championship Appearances: 1

Before John Lynch established himself as the best safety to ever suit up for Tampa, Cedric Brown was one of the top contenders for the consideration.

Brown had finished with at least three interceptions in five different seasons for the Bucs, including the 1981 campaign when he picked off nine passes. Despite his excellence on defense, it never resulted in him getting the chance to play in a Super Bowl.
