The Buccaneers add more speed in free agency

John Ross

Speed is an underrated talent that the Buccaneer receivers have lacked until Scotty Miller came along. Mike Evans and Godwin have it when it counts, but Miller is the only real burner on the offense.

While Ross has experienced a languid start to his NFL career, we’ve all seen what Brady can do with a receiver that possesses speed. If you take Ross’ raw talent and his extremely cheap price tag, the Buccaneers could find a perfect depth option for Brady in 2021.

Ross may not be the most exciting option on this list, but his ceiling could be the highest based on his talent and his cost. The Buccaneers risk practically nothing to bring Ross to Tampa, and they could reap all of the benefits. Ross’ career wasn’t impressive in Cincinnati, but who would shine in that system?

Andy Dalton is no Tom Brady, and being the second or third option in Tampa will open up Ross to looks that he has never seen before with the best quarterback of his career.

While there may be better talent available in the free-agent market, Ross could be one of the cheapest options for the Buccaneers to gamble on in Brady’s second season.
