God Bless the Perennial One, Mike Evans!

Mike Evans, who has one of the sweetest contracts a wide receiver in this league could ask for, told Bruce Arians that if need be he’d be open to restructuring his already sweet contract in order to keep some prime pieces in place, specifically his mate in the wide receiver room Chris Godwin. Kevin Lewis of WFTS Tampa Bay (an ABC affiliate) reported. Should he restructure, this would be the third time that Evans has restructured his contract to be more team-friendly, which is pretty astounding all things considered. The man is truly one of the most unselfish and team-focused receivers in this league. Sometimes it can feel rare that a team is fortunate enough to find a number one receiver of his caliber with this kind of attitude. Evans must have had discussions about this with Tom Brady, who has also become famous for doing this very thing, which helped the New England Patriots keep a lot of their pieces in place, and hopefully the Buccaneers.

Here’s to hoping the Buccaneers can get all the pieces together before the draft in April, and here’s also to hoping there aren’t any 11th-hour surprises with injuries or anything of that nature. The Buccaneers are at the top of the NFL mountain, and they should stay a while.
