Can the Tampa Bay Buccaneers work their magic on enough players’ contracts to keep as much of the Super Bowl winning team together for 2021?

Let’s face the facts. There’s a snowball’s chance in ….errr, the Sahara, that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are keeping ‘the band’ together, no matter what Bruce Arians said. Please, I would LOVE to be wrong, but the only way I can see those prognostications materializing is for all the Bucs’ ‘big name’ free agents to make unholy agreements with their own agents.

OR maybe the Glazers are able to guarantee compensation on down the road in one form or another, like “You get a car dealership!” “You get a car dealership!!” “YOU get a car dealership.” OR stock options in Amazon, or Tesla, or…….I don’t know, maybe even…. A CAR DEALERSHIP? Now I might take that deal, but alas, I’m not an NFL caliber talent that warrants $10Mill+ a year…..no matter what mom says! Bless her heart.

So let’s just look and see what the Buccaneers might do if a few secondary key players end up as cap casualties or take better deals elsewhere. Grit you teeth and cringe, cause we gotta just pull off that band-aid! Let’s do this already!

“Shady” McCoy and Ryan Smith will most likely be gone. For nothing other than injury prowess, Jack Cichy and Justin Watson may be looking for jobs elsewhere as well. Their cap hits are relatively small but would be more of a move to open up roster spots.

These are players I think we all want to see come back in the red and pewter next year, although it may be for naught if the planets don’t align properly. As we all witnessed, the planets ACTUALLY did align, and well, the rest was history. Jupiter and Saturn merged at the right time but we won’t see that for another 800 years. I’m pretty sure there aren’t any other planets lining up any time soon, and so we dismiss astrology and deal with what we have more control over.

4 other players that can make a difference one way or another:

Obviously, as other lesser known Bucs players will be relegated to the practice squad, or go unsigned, here are four other players I think may make a difference in keeping as much of the core SB roster together, or may not be sportin’ a Bucs ‘uni’ in 2021!
