Buccaneers: 5 options to be the next running back addition
By Rob Leeds
Draft option #3 for the Buccaneers
Kylin Hill, Mississippi State
Kylin Hill is one of the names that is flying under the radar. After an up and down career with Mississippi State, Hill was probably one season away from garnering recognition as one of the class’s top running backs.
Hill is already talented in the desired areas, but he will likely slip to the third round or later. Much like Gainwell, Hill is a perfect fit based on his many talents and his price tag.
Hill can run between the tackles as well as anyone on the Buccaneers right now, can catcher better than anyone else, and is a vast improvement in pass protection. Hill could easily challenge as the RB1 after a short time with the Bucs based on a very high upside.
If the Buccaneers really don’t believe that Jones is the answer in the lead role from now on and need to use their first-round pick on a different position, Hill could be a diamond in the rough for the Bucs to target.
Hill doesn’t bring the same upside as Gainwell as a route-runner, but he is a vastly superior running back and is still a very competent pass catcher in the short game that Brady likes so much.
