Draft option #3 for the Buccaneers

Javonte Williams, UNC

Javonte Williams is a name that has grown in popularity for the Bucs in recent months. Williams is a great runner and can play various roles in the current offense, but the priority draft location is a bit of a red flag.

First-round picks on running backs is a dangerous undertaking. Plenty of teams in the NFL have taken chances on players like this and were rewarded, but this is never the most significant need for the value of the pick.

Running back is a luxury that only some teams can focus on, but as the Super Bowl champs, the Bucs could spend more time contemplating this than the average team. The only caution to this would be the Chiefs.

After winning the Super Bowl last year, the Chiefs used the 32nd pick in the draft on a running back that fits their system perfectly. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a great addition, but he changed the dynamic of that team very little.

Javonte Williams is a great player that could easily be the next lead man for the Buccaneers down the road, but much like CEH, it is difficult for any running back to help elevate a team like this in the modern era.
