Day #2 for the Buccaneers

2. 48. Scouting Report. IDL. Iowa. Daviyon Nixon. Pick Analysis. player

The Bucs were able to keep the best defensive line in football locked down for one more season, but how much longer will this last? Khalil Davis could be the next guy to emerge from this group as a big-time player, but Tampa Bay would be wise to invest some picks in the future at this position as well.

For a team that prides itself so much on its ability to shut down the run and put pressure on the quarterback, keeping the defensive line well-staffed is critical. Ndamukong Suh is entering one of his last seasons in the NFL, and Nixon should be a great option to replace him.

Suh brings a lot to the table in four and five-man fronts, but Nixon has the size and talent to replace Suh eventually.

Are you tired of seeing this yet? We’re going to keep writing this until it comes true. The sting of missing Antonio Gibson still hurts, and Gainwell would soothe that pain.

Based on fits with the Buccaneers, Gainwell is the best running back in the class. With the ability to catch consistently out of the backfield and line up out wide, Gainwell is the Swiss army knife that Tom Brady could use to carve up any defense in the NFL.

Gainwell will probably be gone before this point on draft night, but if the rest of the NFL is foolish enough to pass on this player, Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich can find plenty of ways to make them pay for their decision.
