Late round picks for the Buccaneers in the 2021 NFL Draft

Pick #5

Round 6-217: Tristen Hoge, IOL, BYU

The Buccaneers need to prepare for a future without some of their key offensive linemen. Alex Cappa is on the verge of getting a much larger contract than most people would expect. Assuming he keeps up his play from last year, he could prove too expensive for the Bucs to keep long-term.

Hoge was a member of one of the best offensive lines in college football last season, and Zach Wilson’s clean jersey is a decent indication that Hoge can help from a depth standpoint with a chance to compete for a starting job down the road.

Pick #6

Round 7-251: Robert Rochell, CB, Central Arkansas

Rochell has ended up on every mock draft for us so far this year, and we won’t stop now. Rochell’s history as a man corner and the ability to dominate in Todd Bowles’ defense is too much to pass up for a long-shot seventh-round pick.

Pick #8

Round 7-259: Rico Bussey Jr., WR, Hawaii

The Buccaneers can always use depth at receiver. Bussey gives the Bucs another option to lean on in the event of injuries and also gives the team another player to compete for the main return duties.
