David Moore – G, Grambling State

With the 176th overall pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select David Moore, a guard from Grambling State University.

In recent years, the Buccaneers have had tremendous success drafting interior offensive linemen out of smaller schools. You can see Ali Marpet and Alex Cappa as examples. Moore comes from one of, if not the most historically significant historically black colleges as far as football is concerned in Grambling State. If you look up some of the names that have come from there, it is incredibly impressive. They play with chips on their shoulder, and Moore is no different. He would fit right in with the other small school offensive linemen.

Moore is listed as a guard, but can also play center as seen during the Senior Bowl. He is as close to a “jack of all trades” linemen that one can find in the fourth round. The offensive line certainly isn’t a pressing need for the Buccaneers, but there are certainly guys in the locker room Moore can learn from. Should he see the field, perhaps he can have a chin wiggle with Tristan Wirfs on how to become the best at your position as a rookie. This would be a very valuable selection should it happen, and very on-brand.
