Players for the Buccaneers to target on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft

Player #1

Kellen Mond, QB, TAMU

Mond has shot up draft boards in recent weeks, and his upside on a team like the Bucs is hard to ignore. With a top-end potential that projects close to the likes of Dad Prescott, the Buccaneers aren’t wasting anything with a pick like this in the second or third round.

A depth quarterback won’t play a massive role on the team for the next few years, but a player like Mond could be the answer at the position for the future if the Bucs can build him up in the right ways.

Player #2

Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington

If the Bucs want to stick with the current trend of taking defensive players from Washington, Levi Onwuzurike could be available in the second round and a great option to serve in a depth role alongside college teammate Joe Tryon.

Player #3

Quinn Meinerz, IOL, Wisconsin-Whitewater

The Bucs want to keep depth on their offensive line for down the road, and Meinerz is quickly becoming a draft darling for Day 2. The Buccaneers could be the team to win the Meinerz sweepstakes and get a starting-caliber interior lineman for the future for cheap.

Player #4

Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Memphis

Gainwell would enter a very crowded running back room, but his ability to split reps between receiver and running back would help him make the most of limited reps while also serving as a legitimate featured option for down the road.
