Now that the NFL Draft and free agency are in the rearview mirror and the excitement of the offseason has waned, for the most part, teams can begin their team workouts with eyes on 2021. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, their rookies have already reported for their mini-camp, with the goal of joining and contributing to a roster that is looking to “go for two” as Super Bowl champions. Given that the Buccaneers are returning all 22 starters and some change, that’s a bit of a tall task.

However, that’s not saying that the rookies the Buccaneers drafted and/or brought in as undrafted free agents are devoid of talent, far from it. First-year pros always have an uphill battle to fight when it comes to making and contributing to an NFL team. Given the current status of the Bucs, that’s only exacerbated.

That doesn’t mean it’s impossible though. With every team, there are departures that may raise some eyebrows amongst their fanbase and the NFL community at large. Here are three veteran Buccaneers players that could be among the surprise cuts/departures before the 2021 season kicks off with their Thursday Night opener.
