Devin White is poised to dominate with the Buccaneers in 2021.

The Buccaneers were blessed to add one of the league’s brightest young stars back in the 2019 NFL Draft when they selected linebacker Devin White with the fifth overall pick in the class. White has dominated from day one with his new team, and year three should be more of the same.

Right off the bat, White is the most athletic linebacker in the NFL. A recent 40-yard dash against wide receivers that are much smaller than White shows that he is still faster than a majority of the league, and this speed plays a huge role in his game.

White is a wrecking ball, but not at the expense of intelligence. White’s knowledge of the game, mixed with his incredible athletic ability, led to many highlights and an All-Pro-worthy season. The individual accolades never came, but the stats and performances spoke for themselves.

In just two years, White has 231 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, 11.5 sacks, and an interception. White is a stat sheet monster, and his 2020 season was a vast improvement over an already-good 2019.

While White didn’t earn any of the elusive awards that are reserved for individuals, he is in a great position to dominate to a further extent in 2021, where he should finally earn one of these honors.

In addition to the stats, White had several unforgettable performances during the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl run. Playing like this on the biggest stage in the sport shows that White belongs in the conversation for best players in the league at his position going forward.

Trending. Antonio Brown officially makes the Buccaneers ludicrous. light

There are still some areas where White needs to refine his game a bit, specifically in defending the pass, but his ability as a dominant force against the run and rushing the passer should make for a fantastic junior season for one of the best players in the NFL.
