The Buccaneers have a ton of running backs to rely on 2021, but former 3rd round pick, Ke’Shawn Vaughn still deserves a chance over the other options on the roster.

Despite all of the attention that the running back room for the Buccaneers has gotten this past off-season, there is still some names in the group that deserve a spot in the spotlight. Ronald Jones is a name that goes under the radar, but Ke’Shawn Vaughn is another that does not get enough credit.

Vaughn was a priority pick for the Buccaneers just a few years ago, yet he still hasn’t received the chance to shine on this team.

It makes sense that Vaughn has been left off when you consider the success that this team has experienced with some of the other options in the lead role, but there is still an argument to make that Vaughn deserves an opportunity in the starting role.

The Bucs may like Jones, Leonard Fournette, and Giovani Bernard, but Vaughn gives the team an option that is young and has an extremely high upside as a runner.

The game versus the Lions last season showed a player that is a more-than-competent runner between the tackles, and Bruce Arians and company need to see what he can do with more touches.

Vaughn may not be the flashiest player to call upon during a season that has aspirations in the Super Bowl, but his talent could make him a player that has a future as the lead man on the team that desperately needs future options.

The Buccaneers will need Vaughn to have an excellent offseason and training camp to win a chance at some reps this season.  However, the offense won’t take a massive step back with one of their youngest players running the ball, and they should use that time to see what they actually have in a priority player.
