When does life without Brady start for the Buccaneers?

Kyle Trask, QB

Kyle Trask may prove to be one of the most exciting preseason quarterbacks for the Buccaneers ever, but there is almost no chance that he earns a start anytime soon. Tom Brady is the reigning Super Bowl MVP and looks better than ever, so Tampa has no business rushing him out of town yet.

With at least two seasons left on his contract, Brady will start above Trask for that long at a minimum, but no one knows when Brady will choose to hang the cleats up. And at this point, who would want to stop him?

Trask is currently the QB3 behind Brady and Blaine Gabbert. The front office and coaching staff inexplicably love Gabbert and see him as a potential suitor to the throne after Brady, but most of us are hoping that they will decide to go a different direction when that time arrives.

With two guys starting above you, the opportunities for Trask to earn a start are incredibly bleak for the foreseeable future, but this is exactly what he needs to begin his career.

Trask has almost no pressure for the time being and can focus on growing and developing in the system, so Tampa should wait until he is in the perfect spot before letting him loose, which could take a few years at least.
