Buccaneers: 3 breakout players to watch for in 2021
By Rob Leeds
The Buccaneers will need breakout players in 2021 to keep the scales tipped in their favor.
The Buccaneers defy conventional NFL wisdom. No team has ever been as successful keeping their roster together, and there have certainly been no other teams to find this level of roster success after winning the Super Bowl.
Let’s face it; the NFL is a business. Every single player in the league should strive to get paid and to win a ring, and all of the players on the Bucs in 2020 were able to check one of those boxes off.
Even with other offers coming in for more money or better situations, the Buccaneer players chose to keep the band together.
While plenty of starers will garner a ton of media attention during the coming months, this team was built upon more than star power. Tom Brady was a great addition, but without the young talent from the draft that filled the starting and depth roles, this team would have never been in the position to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
The players that go under the radar at first have a way of exploding onto the scene when it counts most, like Carlton Davis, Shaquil Barrett, and Jordan Whitehead, and the Bucs have several players in a great position to break out in 2021 as well, adding even more talent to the best roster in the NFL.
