The Buccaneers already have tons of receiver talent, but the more the merrier

Jaelon Darden

As the only rookie on this list, Darden may have the most intrigue surrounding his rookie season of any other player on the team. The Bucs already have one of the best receiving corps in the NFL, and Darden’s presence on this unit makes it far more interesting.

The term “breakout” may look different for every player, but for most, it means outperforming expectations week in and week out. The expectations on Darden may be low amongst the franchise due to his status behind three All-Pro receivers, but that isn’t going to slow him down.

With a fantastic showing alongside the rookies in camp, Darden is garnering plenty of praise from all of his coaches and teammates. We already know this kid was a steal in the fourth round of the draft, and the rest of the league will learn soon enough.

While it may seem impossible to overtake a group that is headlined by the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown, Darden can steal some reps away from the starters. It may not be many snaps, but the rookie receiver has proven that he doesn’t need many to impact the game.

Antonio Brown may look like the lock to get all of the targets that Mike Evans and Chris Godwin don’t, but don’t be surprised if Darden starts to give him a run for his money as he grows more comfortable.
