The depth backs for the Buccaneers in 2021

RB3

Giovanni Bernard

Bernard is going to play a much larger role than most RB3s would play in another offense. As the best pass-catching back on the roster by a mile and a perfect fit with Tom Brady, Bernard should play a huge role in a new-look offense.

The Bucs had a glaring lack of offensive production through the air with their running backs in 2020, and Bernard should fully flip the script.

With a career defined by consistency through the air and decent production on the ground despite a painfully lackluster offense, both Bernard and the Buccaneers will find this pairing to be a breath of fresh air.

Bernard probably won’t earn RB1 reps, but look for him to be one of the most efficient backs on the roster.

RB4

Ke’Shawn Vaughn

Ke’Shawn Vaughn should be the fourth back in a unit of four. He will hopefully start to get more touches this season after a decent rookie career, but none of that is a given in a unit with so much talent.

Vaughn is better between the tackles than he is through the air, but he could easily carve out a small role if he blocks well and shows decent hands over the coming weeks.
