Tampa Bay Buccaneers sophomore sensation Tristan Wirfs continues to be the best right tackle in football. This absolutely bonkers stat confirms this for the Buccaneers soon-to-be legend.

With forgiveness to the clickbait-y title, this is something that we could not just sit by and let go unacknowledged. Offensive linemen don’t always have the most diverse stats sheets and aren’t used in fantasy football, so they are oftentimes the unsung heroes of squads and have a cult-like following when it comes to fandom. Luckily for you, and Wirfs, we’re here to right that injustice.

Recently, Pro football Focus tweeted out this stat giving Wirfs his proper credit, and it’s time you the reader get yourself a peep.

That stat and those numbers are absolutely certified lunacy. There is no other way to put it. At over 1100 snaps, this man, nay, this Colossus has given up a total of ONE sack. Given where his streak is currently at, and the track he’s currently on, that consecutive snap count should be over 1000 by the time Sunday’s much-anticipated game against the New Orleans Saints is over. As an aside, even though Wirfs is younger, he has made a habit of making stud defensive lineman Cameron Jordan his child when the Bucs play the Saints and forcing the veteran player to call Wirfs his Daddy, figuratively of course.

Jason Licht and company struck gold when the Buccaneers drafted Wirfs in the first round of the 2020 Draft, and his instant impact was a big reason for the team’s magical Super Bowl championship season. The continued growth of both Wirfs and fellow tackle Donovan Smith is a big reason for the team’s sustained success. At this pace, Wirfs may very well get the ball rolling on some offensive players finally becoming worthy of the franchise’s Mount Rushmore.
