The Buccaneers have plenty to be thankful for in 2021.

Thanksgiving is here, and while Buccaneers fans haven’t gotten the chance to watch their team yet this week, there is still plenty for them to be thankful for regarding their favorite team.

The first and most obvious reason to be thankful is that the Bucs are still the defending Super Bowl champions. No team wants to live in the past, but it is still nice to remember that we are still only a few months removed from winning the highest honor in the sport.

In addition to recently winning, the Bucs are also in a great position to compete for another shot at a ring. The NFC has been a difficult mountain to climb so far this season, but the Bucs are still legitimate contenders for as long as Tom Brady is the starting quarterback.

Another major reason to be thankful goes beyond this season alone. The Buccaneers aren’t like most Super Bowl champs. Teams usually have to sacrifice their future to go all-in on winning as the Bucs did, but this team isn’t the Rams.

The Buccaneers were able to create a dominant Super Bowl team without having to give up any of their key draft picks, so the future in Tampa will remain bright for as long as Jason Licht is the GM.

The bright future for the Bucs also goes beyond the players. Between Bruce Arians and his great staff, the Buccaneers should be great on the coaching front for a long time to come. Either Arians will stay after finding a mountain of success, or talented young coordinators like Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich can take over.

The Buccaneers are great now and will be for some time. As these other teams go through ebbs and flows, the Bucs should be thankful for their current potential and for how bright their future is.
