The starting right tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the best in the world at his position. This stat helps prove that for the Buccaneers stud.

The sophomore sensation known as Tristan Wirfs made his strong claim as the best right tackle in the NFL as a rookie. Now, in his second season he is quite possibly the best tackle in the entire league, period.

Offensive lineman are always the unsung heroes of football teams. Sure, they get paid the big bucks and a select few are often cult favorites amongst fans, but they are rarely, if ever, bonafide stars. All they do is keep the stars shining. Perhaps the reason for that is the lack of stats that are available to the position group.

In the case of Wirfs, we are not going to let that slide. If you are a good offense of linemen then you will allow very few sacks, great ones allow very few hits to their quarterback, Wirfs on the other hand, considers that child’s play. Pro Football Focus tweeted out this stat about the Buccaneers right tackle and it needs to be seen to be believed.

No quarterback PRESSURES since week eight. To paraphrase/make a pun with one of this writer’s childhood heroes in Allen Iverson, great all offensive linemen are sitting here talking about sacks and hits, but Wirfs is sitting here talking about PRESSURES.

It simply cannot be overstated just how absurdly absurd that stat is.

Considering that streak is the longest amongst active tackles, there really isn’t much more argument needed that worse is the best tackle in all of football. He should’ve been voted to the Pro Bowl last year, not that he could’ve played in the game anyway, if not All-Pro.

Suffice to say, Tristan Wirfs, the best tackle in the NFL, will be an All-Pro after the 2021 NFL season. The fact that he’s a member of the loaded roster that is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s just the cherry on top of the worlds most delicious Sunday sundae.
